Featured Jewelry Artist - Jan Walker

Jan Walker started beading about 3 years ago. While looking on the Internet, she saw some awesome beaded jewelry and thought to herself, " I want to make something like that!" So she looked for beading tutorials on YouTube, bought beads and has been addicted ever since!

Below is one of her stunning new pieces, a gorgeous Swarovski pearl surrounded by seed beads and Swarovski bicone crystals.

Jan has a special love for beaded bezel cabochons. Below are a couple of the unique designs she has created.

Turquoise green Czech glass carved heart bead and super duos.

Sapphire Swarovski crystal rivoli surrounded by Swarovski bicone crystals.

One of Jan's favorites, a black and red rose cameo.

Jan makes gorgeous beaded rings, using seed beads, crystals and various other specialty beads. Her rings and other jewelry items show her ability to master peyote stitch as well as right angle weave. Some of her rings are shown below - they are like tiny little works of art! Who wouldn't want one in every color of the rainbow! You can get one for your very own at Southpass Beads during the month of March.

She says she doesn't really have a favorite stitch, but she does love the challenge of them all. Jan does beading both off and on the loom. She has tried her hand a several types of looms, one of her works in progress using a traditional loom, is shown below. Her purchase of the Ricks Beading Loom helped to speed up the looming process!

Jan says that God has truly Blessed her with the talent of beading and for that she is very thankful. Her series of crosses are simple but elegant. She uses various colors of fire polished crystals for plenty of sparkle.

Among some of her favorite beading tutorial channels on YouTube are Beading4Perfectionis, Off the Beaded Path, and Aleshia Beadifulnights.
